Pat Sharkitt

Dave Parker

Dave Parker attended his first Friday At The Track as a student in 1999. Dave became a Friday At The Track instructor in 2001 as a way to payback all the people that helped him progress and improve his driving skills. Dave started his racing career in 2001 racing sedans in the Sports Car Club of America, National Auto Sport Association and several vintage racing clubs. Dave has raced a variety of cars including, Volkswagens, Mazdas, Lexus, and Porsche cars. Dave currently is racing a Volkswagen Scirocco in SCCA H Production class where he has enjoyed much success.

Friday at the Track is a great learning experience, not only for the students, but for instructors as well. I learn something every time I ride with a student, either about them, the car they are driving, or some nuance of the track or its surrounding environment. The adventure of taking someone who has never had any track experience and making them safe, comfortable and competent on the racetrack is hugely satisfying.

Ralph Dommes

Ralph Dommes was born in Munich, Germany, and began racing on the drag strip and at HPDEs across the east coast in 2002. His love of motorsports brought him to Summit Point to fulfill his ambition as an amateur club racer which began with several FATT sessions to whet his appetite. Since 2008, nothing has stopped him from having a blast and taking advantage of all the great experience and expertise the folks at BSR and Summit Point bring to high performance driving. Ralph is an accomplished Spec Miata racer in the SCCA and in 2008 he finished in 14th place in the championship. He took every checkered flag and consistently improved his lap times and finishing positions. Other accomplishments include instructing for the SCCAs Performance Driver Experience (PDX) program. Ralph established Ralf Racing, Inc., in 2007 and is a proud partner with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Ralf Racing contributes all proceeds to the Society by racing for the cure and supporting special events. http://www.ralfracing.com

Tony Syntax

Tony Syntax, My wife, Pat and I live in Baltimore, MD. Combined we have 9 children many of whom have attended FATT. I work for a company called Starry Associates, Inc. a government contractor implementing and maintaining financial management and accounting systems. I am into Ferrari automobiles for the most part, having started the Mid-Atlantic Region of the Ferrari Club of America in the mid-70s. I guess that puts me in the "vintage" class. I love instructing at FATT because I see people progress in their driving skills just like I did. At least I think I did. I also like meeting all of the different people who have a common interest. You can't beat it.

Jim Roberts

Jim Roberts began auto crossing in 1994 and has been doing high speed events, track days and Time Trials since 1996. He has taught everything from small children in karts to police pursuit tactics. Michael's diverse racing and instructing history will help to bring a sense of accomplishment to your day at FATT whether it's your first time out, or if you're trying to get that extra tenth of a second for the coming race weekend. By 2003, Carl became a qualified Porsche Club Instructor and discovered conducting in-car instruction to be very rewarding. He reunited with the FATT team a year later as an Instructor, allowing him to expand his teaching skills with a wide variety of students and vehicle types in addition to Porsches. Along the way, his passion compelled him to transform his 944 Turbo into a race car and go wheel-to-wheel against other Mid-Atlantic racers. He has had the good fortune of driving, racing and instructing at many race tracks including Summit Point, VIR, Mid-Ohio, Watkins Glen and Road Atlanta. Michael Wiggs

Michael Wiggs, car crazy since childhood, for me cars have always been more than just getting from point A to point B. From Matchboxes and Hot Wheels, summer road trips with the family, getting my first car in High School, to driving my brother's 1968 Mustang (the few times he would let me!), cars have been a huge part of my life. I have fond memories of my cousin teaching me to drive a manual transmission in his 1969 Porsche 912, back in the day. More recently, I've dabbled in autocross and karting. As far as formal training is concerned, I attended one of the 3-day racing clinics at Derek Daly Academy in December 2002, driving Ford powered F2000 race cars. Aside from having fun, my driving philosophy is that there's no such thing as too much training - there's always something to learn!

A return to motorsports brought him back to autocross and then into SCCA racing. He currently holds an SCCA National Competition License, and races a Spec Racer Ford in Regional and National races.
